The Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard
St. Helena, Napa Valley
Originally owned by William Bowers Bourn II, Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard holds a storied legacy. Bourn was revered as the final Bonanza King of the California Gold Rush era due to his ownership of the Empire Mine and his influence in Napa Valley extends to the creation of Greystone Cellars in St. Helena, now home to the Culinary Institute of America Greystone. Acquired in 1872 as a familial abode, the vineyard remains under the stewardship of his descendants. In 2010, Beckstoffer Vineyards procured thirteen acres, almost entirely planted, from the original estate, featuring venerable head-trained Petite Sirah vines and diverse Cabernet Sauvignon clones. This distinguished Cabernet serves as the cornerstone for one of Parable’s esteemed single-vineyard wines.
